Αυτά είναι τα επίσημα χρώματα του Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak με το οποίο ο Sebastian Loeb, θα επιχειρήσει να κάνει νέο ρεκόρ στη θρυλική ανάβαση του Κολοράντο στις 30 Ιουνίου. Ο Loeb έχει ήδη δοκιμάσει τον πύραυλο 875 ίππων, δηλώνοντας εκστασιασμένος από τις επιδόσεις του.

Φορά

έναν V6 bi-turbo 3,2-λίτρων 24-βάλβιδο κινητήρα τοποθετημένο στο κέντρο, απόδοσης 875 άλογα με 900 Nm ροπής. Έχει τελική ταχύτητα 240 χλμ/ώρα με τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα να τα κάνει σε 1,8 δευτερόλεπτα, τα 0-200 χλμ/ώρα σε 4,8 δευτερόλεπτα και τα 0-240 χλμ/ώρα σε 7,0 δευτερόλεπτα.

Η κίνηση μεταφέρεται σε όλους τους τροχούς μέσω 6-τάχυτου σειριακού κιβωτίου με paddles στο τιμόνι. Στο σασί του είναι σωληνωτό με το σώμα να είναι κατασκευασμένο εξολοκλήρου από carbon.

Το αγωνιστικό, φορά ένα επιθετικό bodykit, με τις εξατμίσεις να βγαίνουν στο πλάι. Έχει μήκος 4.500 mm, πλάτος 2.000 mm, ύψος 1.300 mm, και μετατρόχιο 2.695 mm. Ζυγίζει 875 κιλά, έχοντας αναλογία κιλών ανά ίππο 1:1.

Peugeot’s bid to win the unique Colorado Springs based event with the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak has led it to join forces with key partners: Total, Red Bull, Michelin and Sébastien Loeb.

Peugeot’s participation in this epic race, which has previously seen the Marque triumph with the legendary 205 T16 and 405 T16 Pikes Peak, is a natural extension of its international offensive which is itself illustrated by the globalisation of its sales and the success enjoyed by the new 208.
