Οριστικό τέλος στην σχέση Volkswagen-Suzuki

Έχουμε δει τηλεοπτικά δράματα με μικρότερη διάρκεια αλλά ήρθε η ώρα για την σχέση μεταξύ Volkswagen και Suzuki να τελειώσει, οριστικά και τελεσίδικα. Άτυπα, γνωρίζαμε ότι οι τίτλοι τέλους είχαν ξεκινήσει από τον Αύγουστο του προηγούμενου έτους αλλά τώρα ολοκληρώθηκε η συμφωνία ανάμεσα στις δύο εταιρίες.

Συγκεκριμένα, η Suzuki συμφώνησε να αποζημιώσει την Volkswagen

με ένα αδιευκρίνιστο ποσό επειδή δεν τήρησε την συμφωνία που προέβλεπε την χρήση πετρελαιοκινητήρων της Γερμανικής εταιρίας. Η Suzuki δεν ανακοίνωσε το ακριβές ποσό –με τη σύμφωνη γνώμη της VW– αλλά σχολίασε ότι “δεν θα έχει σημαντικές επιπτώσεις” στα οικονομικά αποτελέσματα του 2015 που όπως γίνεται πάντα με τις Ιαπωνικές εταιρίες, λήγει τον Μάρτιο.

Να θυμίσω πως η συνεργασία των δύο εταιριών, ξεκίνησε το 2010 όταν η VW, ανακοίνωσε πως αγοράζει το 19,9% της Suzuki. Η συμφωνία, προέβλεπε πρόσβαση της Suzuki στην τεχνολογία υβριδικών και diesel powertrains της VW ενώ από την άλλη πλευρά, οι Γερμανοί, αποκτούσαν πρόσβαση στην αγορά της Ινδίας και της Ν.Α. Ασίας.

Η συνεργασία όμως, ποτέ δεν ήταν ήρεμη. Οι Γερμανοί δήλωσαν απογοητευμένοι από το πώς εξελίσσονταν τα πράγματα ενώ η Suzuki είπε πως μέχρι το 2012, δεν είχε χρησιμοποιήσει καμία τεχνολογία της VW. Αφορμή για την οριστική ρήξη, ήταν η κίνηση των Ιαπώνων να συνεργαστούν με την Fiat για diesel κινητήρες. Έκτοτε η Suzuki, πλήρωσε €3,47 δισεκατομμύρια για να αγοράσει πίσω τις μετοχές της ενώ οι μετοχές της Volkswagen που βρίσκονταν στα χέρια της Suzuki αγοράστηκαν από την Porsche.

Notification Concerning Resolution of Arbitration by Settlement

As Suzuki has reached a settlement regarding the arbitration that Suzuki filed with the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce on 24 November 2011, Suzuki informs you of the following:

1. History from the Request for Arbitration to the SettlementAs announced in the “Notification Concerning Arbitration Award” dated 30 August 2015, the Tribunal indicated that it would address the issue of alleged damages arising from Suzuki’s breach of the agreement claimed by Volkswagen AG (“VW”) in a further stage of the arbitration proceedings. Suzuki reached a settlement with VW in regard to such arbitration proceedings on 10 February 2016. Accordingly, the arbitration proceedings have been concluded.

4. Outlook for the FutureSuzuki is planning to pay the settlement amount during this fiscal year (ending 31 March 2016), but this settlement will not have any significant impact on Suzuki’s consolidated results for this fiscal year.
