Η Geely παρουσιάζει το GC9

H Geely παρουσίασε το GC9, τη νέα της ναυαρχίδα που θα κάνει επίσημο ντεμπούτο στις 15 του Δεκέμβρη στο περιθώριο του event Geely Brand Night που λάβει χώρα στο Water Cube, στο κολυμβητήριο που είχαν δημιουργήσει οι Κινέζοι για την Ολυμπιάδα του Πεκίνου.

Κινεζική αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία, και βασίζεται στο πρωτότυπο KC concept που παρουσιάστηκε πέρυσι στην έκθεση της Σαγκάη. Σχεδιασμένο από τον πρώην επικεφαλή της Volvo, Peter Horbury, το αυτοκίνητο έχει αναπτυχθεί από μια παγκόσμια ομάδα σε Γκέτεμποργκ, Σαγκάη και Λος Άντζελες, ώστε να αποσπά πέντε αστέρια στις δοκιμές πρόσκρουσης του C NCAP, του κινέζικου οργανισμού του Euro NCAP.

Στο εσωτερικό υπάρχουν δερμάτινες επενδύσεις, οθόνη αφής 8″, κρυφός φωτισμός και Head-Up Display. Κάτω από το καπό του θα υπάρχουν τρεις κινητήρες, ένας ατμοσφαιρικός V6 2,4-λίτρων απόδοσης 160 ίππων με 210 Nm ροπής, ένας 1.800αρης turbo απόδοσης 180 ίππων με 285 Nm ροπής, και ένας 3,5-λίτρων V6 απόδοσης 270 ίππων με 345 Nm ροπής. Και οι τρεις συνδυάζονται με ένα 6-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο.

Geely Auto GC9 Readying For Water Cube Debut

December 8, 2014, Hangzhou China. Geely Auto’s flagship sedan, the GC9, is set to launch at a high key event on December 14th 2014 in Beijing’s Water Cube. The Water Cube was the home to the 2008 Olympic swimming event and most recently housed the APEC meeting which was attended by President Barack Obama and other Pacific Nation leaders and will form the backdrop to the launch of Geely’s most important car to date, the GC9. The GC9 was crafted by Geely’s Chief Designer, Peter Horbury, along with his new global development team which is based in Gothenburg, Barcelona, Shanghai and Los Angeles. The GC9 represents the targets and goals of ‘New Geely’ which is focusing on creating higher value vehicles with greater levels of luxury and a global design language. Powertrains for the GC9 include a 2.4L naturally aspirated engine, a 1.8 direct injection turbo and a flagship 3.5L V6 engine, all vehicles will be paired to a six speed automatic gearbox from Geely’s Australian subsidiary Drivetrain Systems International (DSI).

The GC9 is based upon the KC Concept which first aired at the 2013 Shanghai Show and has grown into the leading domestic Chinese sedan. Comfort and technology levels have been brought to class leading levels with independent electronic rear seat adjustability for increased rear passenger comfort, heads up display for increased safety, Harmon supplied in car entertainment systems, air purifying systems. Geely has a long history of building safe cars with the GX7 SUV receiving a plus five star safety award in C-NCAP crash testing, the Geely Panda was also the first Chinese small car to receive a full star safety award from C-NCAP. Safety has also been a major factor during the development of the GC9 with engineers building the car to achieve a 5-Star Plus ranking and as such features a range of side impact, passenger and driver head, chest and knee crash protection airbag systems. Active safety has also been introduced into the GC9 with the addition of Crash Migration Systems which automatically applies brakes in case the vehicle should come too close to the car in front. A full range of side, front, and rear camera systems give a 360 degree view of the vehicle at all times to assist the driver and also alert the driver to lane departure and blind spot awareness.

The Geely GC9 will be officially shown at the Geely Brand Night which starts at 8pm on December 15th 2014 at the Beijing Water Cube.
