Έπειτα από την πρώτη παρουσίαση του μοντέλου στην έκθεση του Πεκίνου το 2014, η BYD αποκάλυψε τα πλήρη και τελικά τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά του Tang υβριδικού SUV της.

Η Κινέζικη εταιρία εξηγεί ότι το Tang πήρε το όνομα του από την δυναστεία των Tang που είναι γνωστή ανά τον κόσμο ως η πλέον εύπορη από όλες τις μεγάλες Κινεζικές Δυναστείες. Το BYD Tang κινείται από ένα υβριδικό σύστημα που αποτελείται από έναν δίλιτρο, turbo

Όλο το σύστημα παράγει συνδυαστικά 505 άλογα και 720 Nm ροπής και συνδυάζεται με αυτόματο κιβώτιο 6 σχέσεων. Σύμφωνα με την εταιρία, τα 100 km/h από στάση έρχονται σε μόλις 4.9 δευτερόλεπτα ενώ η μέση κατανάλωση, δεν ξεπερνά τα 2 λίτρα ανά 100 χιλιόμετρα.

Η BYD, παρουσίασε επίσης δύο ειδικές εκδόσεις του Tang. Το Tang Limited εξοπλίζεται με κόκκινες ζάντες ελαφρού κράματος και ειδικό εσωτερικό και κοστίζει $48.256 –ή €41.629- με την παραγωγή του να περιορίζεται στα 98 κομμάτια. Το Tang Ultimate Edition από την άλλη, διαθέτει wide bodykit και είναι 0.5 δευτερόλεπτα ταχύτερο στο 0-100 από την standard έκδοση και θα παραχθεί σε 200 κομμάτια με τιμή που φτάνει τα $96.530 –ή €83.370-. Οι πωλήσεις του BYD Tang και των ειδικών εκδόσεων του, ξεκινούν σήμερα.

The BYD Tang, announced at Auto China 2014 (the Beijing Auto Show), is BYD Auto’s second generation DM 2.0 PHEV vehicle, and first of the much touted BYD 5-4-2 platform models:

Similar to the BYD Qin, Tang gets its name from the Tang Dynasty, and is known throughout the world as the most prosperous of all the great Chinese Dynasties. Also announced during the innovator’s conference were two more Sport Utility offerings from BYD that will become available for order later in 2015:The “BYD Song”, a mid-size SUV along with the “BYD Yuan”, a compact SUV will both cater to China’s insatiable demand for Sport Utility Vehicles, and when powered by BYD’s industry leading 5-4-2 platform are set to redefine limitations of current PHEVs and SUVs alike.
