The auction is bringing together an eclectic range of cars spanning six decades and features some truly unique cars.

Headlining the sale is an extremely rare 1939 Lagonda V12 Hooper two door saloon, estimated at between £75,000 and £100,000. A highly original and matching numbers example it was built for the wife of the owner of Hooper Bodies Ltd and formed part of the famous Henry Ellard classic car collection that was sold at auction in 1984.

Other highlights include a pair of Aston Martin DBS barn finds; a very rare 1969 right hand drive manual Vantage model and an early Series I V8. Both are estimated at between £20,000 and £25,000 and having been in storage for the past ten years the time has now come for new owners to restore these cars to their former glory.

Another British barn find pair comes in the form of two 1958 Jaguar XK150s, both estimated at between £35,000 and £45,000 each. An indigo blue drophead coupe is the 74th example of the 622 right hand drive cars built, whilst a Carmen red fixedhead coupe, offered at auction for the first time, was owned by West Bromwich garage owner and renowned racing driver of the period, Alan Eccles.

From the world of TV comes Arthur Daley’s famous Daimler that was driven around the streets of London in the hit ITV series Minder, estimated at between £10,500 and £15,000. Also going under the hammer is a 1969 Morris milk float, offered with No Reserve, which had a starring role in iconic soap opera EastEnders.

Those who prefer a classic in finer condition could take ownership of stunning fully restored 1986 BMW M3, a very rare 1985 Lamborghini Jalpa or a 1997 Renault Sport Spider, ready to drive away just in time for summer.

Looking forward to the new auction, Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: “We’re incredibly excited to host the brand new auction at the inaugural Restoration Show. The team have brought together some truly fascinating cars and interest is set to be high.”
