Η Ford έδωσε ένα teaser video από το νέο Everest που θα παρουσιαστεί στις 13 του Νοέμβρη στο Πεκίνο. Το αυτοκίνητο θα βασίζεται πάνω στο πρωτότυπο Everest Concept και θα κατασκευαστεί στην ίδια πλατφόρμα με αυτή του Ranger. Θα προσφέρεται σε δικίνητη και τετρακίνητη έκδοση με τον τετρακύλινδρο 2,2-λίτρων Duratorq TDCi κινητήρα απόδοσης 150 ίππων με 375 Nm ροπής, και τον πεντακύλινδρο 3,2-λίτρων

Duratorq TDCi κινητήρα απόδοσης 200 ίππων με 470 Nm ροπής, να βρίσκονται κάτω από το καπό του.

Το εσωτερικό θα είναι ευρύχωρο και θα δανείζεται πολλά μέρη του νέου F-150, διαθέτοντας το νέο σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας SYNC 2 με οθόνη αφής 8″. Το 7-θέσιο SUV θα διαθέτει “εξαιρετικές off-road δυνατότητες” και έναν από τους χαμηλότερους αεροδυναμικούς συντελεστές οπισθέλκουσας στην κατηγορία του.

BEIJING, China, November 4, 2014 – Ford today released photos and a short video offering a sneak preview of its latest global vehicle, the new Ford Everest.

Ford will unveil the new Ford Everest at a special media event in Beijing on Thursday, November 13, 2014.

Rugged, refined and amazingly capable, the new Ford Everest will enable extraordinary journeys far off the beaten path, building on Ford’s long heritage as an innovator and leader in utility vehicles.

The development of the new Ford Everest was led by Ford’s Asia Pacific design and development team in Australia, in cooperation with colleagues from across Asia Pacific and around the world.

“We can’t wait to show the world the latest example of our One Ford global product strategy in action,” said Trevor Worthington, vice president, Product Development, Ford Asia Pacific. “After five years and 4,500 man-years of design and development work, we’re going to redefine what customers can expect from an SUV.”

The director of the Ford Design Centre in Melbourne, Todd Willing, said the Everest was the culmination of several years’ work aligning Ford’s global design language with customer insight from each of the key markets where Everest will be sold.

“This is our vision of a large, seven-seat off-road vehicle that exemplifies how Ford’s “One Ford” vehicle philosophy can apply for a vehicle created for Asia Pacific,” Willing said. “The Everest is also further proof of the world-class design expertise here in Melbourne. Many of the talented team who worked on Everest – and continue to work on other Ford vehicles – have been educated right here in Victoria.”

The Australian designed and developed Everest has also be subjected to global durability testing, including extensive development work in the Australian outback.
