Ο Jonathan Ive χειροτονήθηκε ιππότης

Σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα του BBC ο Jonathn Ive, Senior Vice President of Industrial Design στην Apple, χειροτονήθηκε ιππότης στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο.

Mr Ive, who can now style himself Sir Jonathan, has been made a Knight

Ο Ive ξεκίνησε να δουλεύει στην Apple το 1992 όπου τα βρήκε σκούρα στην αρχή μέχρι την επιστροφή του Jobs στην εταιρεία. Έκτοτε βρίσκεται σε υψηλή εκτίμηση διατηρώντας άτυπα την Νο. 2 θέση στην Apple μέχρι και τον θάνατο του Steve Jobs ενώ είναι υπεύθυνος για τον σχεδιασμό μερικών από τα καλύτερα προϊόντα της Apple, όπως το MacBook Pro, iPhone και iPad.

Ο Ive δήλωσε:

“I am keenly aware that I benefit from a wonderful tradition in the UK of designing and making. To be recognized with this honour is absolutely thrilling and I am both humbled and sincerely grateful. I discovered at an early age that all I’ve ever wanted to do is design. I feel enormously fortunate that I continue to be able to design and make products with a truly remarkable group of people here at Apple.”
