Η 30χρονη δηλώνει: «Αποφάσισα να γίνω πυροσβέστης όταν ήμουν μόλις 19 ετών. Πάντα ήθελα να νιώθω δραστήρια και ότι αποτελώ μέρος μίας μεγάλης ομάδας».

«Όταν ανακάλυψα ότι θα μπορούσα να συνδυάσω μία σωματική εργασία, με απαιτητικά καθήκοντα, βοηθώντας παράλληλα τους συνανθρώπους μου, η επιλογή ήταν απλή. Δεν το μετάνιωσα ποτέ. Λατρεύω τη δουλειά μου».

«Όταν έκανα αίτηση για τη δουλειά στο πυροσβεστικό τμήμα η μητέρα μου, μου είπε: "Δεν έχω ξανακούσει ποτέ για γυναίκα πυροσβέστη, πριν από εσένα.. γιατί έκανες αυτή την επιλογή"».

«Και τότε της απάντησα: "Γιατί όχι;».

Πριν από περίπου τέσσερα χρόνια, η super-fit Gunn αποφάσισε επίσης να γίνει personal trainer και τώρα όταν δεν ασχολείται με την κατάσβεση πυρκαγιών, σηκώνει βάρη.
