We are seeking highly-motivated postdoctoral researchers with a background in inflammation or a related field to join our team at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (Cleveland, OH). Successful candidates will be responsible for planning and executing their own studies on the inflammatory skin

disease psoriasis and its co-morbidities, including cardiovascular disease, arthritis, depression and irritable bowel disease.

We utilize a multidisciplinary approach, including genomic, metabolomic, proteomic, and micro/mycobiomic studies on human psoriasis, combined with novel preclinical mouse models, to study the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Going between patients and mouse models, we aim to identify critical cellular pathways, interfere with these using novel genetic technologies, and determine the significance of the pathways for disease initiation and progression. We then work to translate these findings back to the clinical setting by designing and evaluating novel prevention and intervention strategies.
Desired skills and experience

The ideal candidate will be able and willing to work within an integrated, multidisciplinary team comprised of basic scientists, computational biologists and physician-scientists, with significant resources for bioinformatics support, preclinical mouse models and studies in human tissues.

The candidate is expected to successfully perform experiments guided by patient data using a variety of preclinical model systems including cell lines, xenografts, and genetically engineered mouse models. A desire to develop and implement new methodologies, particularly in modern technologies and analytics in immunophenotyping and functional genomics, is highly advantageous. There will be numerous training opportunities to complement the successful candidate’s current skills and to collaborate with outstanding scientists in multiple academic institutions.

Applicants should have completed a PhD in a related field, and possess a strong publication record and research experience in related fields. Experience with several of the following approaches would be desirable: characterization of genetically engineered mouse models, work with patient-derived tissues and culture of primary cells.
