Σαρλίζ Θερόν : «Ναι» στα βραβεία χωρίς διακρίσεις φύλου

Οι τελετές απονομής βραβείων ουδέτερες ως προς το φύλο κάποτε ακούγονταν σαν αποκύημα φαντασίας στο Χόλιγουντ. Τώρα, όμως, η ιδέα αποκτά στήριξη από μία από τις κορυφαίες ηθοποιούς της κινηματογραφικής βιομηχανίας, όπως είναι η Σαρλίζ Θερόν.

Η βραβευμένη με Όσκαρ ηθοποιός, Σαρλίζ Θέρον κλήθηκε πριν από την τελετή απονομής των Κινηματογραφικών Βραβείων του Χόλιγουντ (Hollywood Film

Awards) να σχολιάσει αν πρέπει να εισαχθούν κατηγορίες βραβεύσεων ουδέτερες φύλου και απάντησε χαρακτηριστικά: «Ας ελπίσουμε σύντομα».

Η Σαρλίζ Θερόν τιμήθηκε στην φετινή απονομή των Κινηματογραφικών Βραβείων του Χόλιγουντ, με το βραβείο «Hollywood Career» για την επιτυχημένη της πορεία στην κινηματογραφική βιομηχανία του Χόλιγουντ.

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι σε ορισμένες τελετές απονομής βραβείων, όπως τα Grammys και MTV Movie and TV Awards, έχουν ήδη υιοθετήσει ουδετερότητα ως προς το φύλο και πλέον δεν απονέμουν βραβεία στις κατηγορίες Καλύτερος Άνδρας ή Καλύτερη Γυναίκα.

Όταν η βρετανίδα ηθοποιός Έμμα Γουάτσον κέρδισε το πρώτο βραβείο MTV ουδέτερο φύλου το 2017, το παρέλαβε υπογραμμίζοντας στον λόγο της: «Η μόνη διάκριση πρέπει να είναι μεταξύ κάθε εξαιρετικής ερμηνείας».

Ωστόσο, η κατάργηση των βραβείων με φύλο εξακολουθεί να μην είναι εφικτή για περισσότερο παραδοσιακές τελετές απονομής βραβείων στο Χόλιγουντ, όπως των βραβείων Emmy και των βραβείων Όσκαρ.
