Την αρχή έκανε ο Jared Leto στις Χρυσές Σφαίρες το 2015 και από εκείνη την στιγμή, οι πλεξούδες στους άντρες σταμάτησαν να θεωρούνται τόσο μεγάλο ταμπού. Ενάμισι χρόνο αργότερα, όλο και περισσότεροι άνδρες έχουν αρχίσει να πλέκουν τα μαλλιά τους στο εξωτερικό και να μοιράζονται τις φωτογραφίες τους στα social media.
