Όπως αναφέρει και το Refinery29, δημιούργησε έναν λογαριασμό στο Instagram, ο οποίος ονομάζεται Unlikely Hikers και προσπαθεί να σπάσει τον μύθο ότι δεν μπορεί κανείς να έχει όλα τα παραπάνω χαρακτηριστικά και να αγαπάει την φύση. Τονίζει μέσα από τον λογαριασμό της ότι άνθρωποι κάθε μεγέθους, φυλής, ηλικίας και φυσικής κατάστασης μπορούν να εκτιμήσουν την πεζοπορία, όπως και η ίδια.

«Κουράστηκα να βλέπω το ίδιο είδος [πεζοπόρου] ξανά και ξανά διαδικτυακά», ανέφερε πρόσφατα στο Portland Monthly. «Πόσες φορές μπορείς να δεις φωτογραφίες με μία αψεγάδιαστη, λευκή, αδύνατη γυναίκα, αδύνατη σε έναν λόφο και να μοιάζει σαν να την πήγε ελικόπτερο εκεί; Σας λέω, εγώ δεν είμαι έτσι όταν βρίσκομαι σε μία κορυφή. "The first time I went hiking, I was eighteen years old. I chose to participate in a thirty mile thru hike along the Appalachian Trail in Maine for freshman orientation. My first hike. Ever. The girl from Alphabet City, NYC. Concrete jungle. I’ve always been the type of person to make a choice and just run with it without looking back. I still function the same way - making bold choices like moving across the country to live near my sister. But now there are layers of anxiety from losing a child and my husband that I have to peel through every time I do something new. It’s my new normal, for now, and I’m ok with that. Αυτός ο λογαριασμός στο Instagram έρχεται να στηρίξει ένα ευρύτερο κίνημα των τελευταίων χρόνων, που στηρίζει γυναίκες και άντρες κάθε ηλικίας, σωματότυπου, φύλου και σωματικού βάρους που ασχολείται με την γυμναστική.
